Parliament
The National Assembly is the parliament of the Republic of Angola. It is a unicameral body that represents all Angolan citizens, expresses the sovereign will of the people and exercises the legislative power of the State.
The Assembly comprises 220 members elected under the terms of the constitution and the electoral law.
The members of parliament are elected for a five-year term of office by universal, free, equal, direct, secret and periodic suffrage by citizens over 18 years who reside in the national territory, under the terms of the law.
