The National Assembly (Parliament), is the representative of all Angolans, was instituted on November 26, 1992, resulting from the first elections organized in Angola, carried out on September 29, and 30 1992. According to the electoral results, the MPLA obtained the parliamentary majority with 129 seats of the 220 that the National Assembly is composed, following the UNITA with 70, PRS with 6; FNLA with 5, PLD with 3 seats and PAJOCA, PNDA, PDP-ANA, FDA, AD-COLIGAÇÃO, PRD and PSD with 1 a seat each one. With pride we say today that the National Assembly consolidated her position in the legal table - with effectiveness in the Country, while affirming itself at each day like a guaranteeing fort of peace and democracy in the Republic of Angola. The President of the National Assembly occupies the 2nd place in the hierarchy of the State, and pursuant to the Constitutional Law, it substitute temporarily of the President of the Republic, in the temporary case of prevention or another situation. The President of the National Assembly is elected by simple majority, under proposal of the political party (s) (s) or coalition of parties which obtained the majority in the elections.....
