Consular Registration

Consular registration ensures that Angolan citizens receive the consular protection provided by the Diplomatic Mission, under the 1963 Vienna Convention on consular relations. It is one of the necessary requirements for national citizens to benefit from the consular services provided by that Embassy.
In order to complete the consular registration, Angolan citizens (minors included) that legally reside in Switzerland must produce the following documents:

1.A duly filled out form
2.Full Copy of Birth Entry, Full Birth Certificate, Identity Card or Passport
3.Residence Permit for Switzerland (Permis de Séjour)
4.Proof of Residence in Switzerland
5.Proof of employment or Certificate from the Educational Establishment
6.Fees : CHF 10.-

N.B.: The full copy of the birth entry or the birth certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of External Relations of Angola (validity of six months or less).
Important notice: All documents in a foreign language (except passport, international certificate of vaccination and proof of flight and hotel bookings) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (canton or federal notary/chancellery).
Passport
The request for the issuance or extension of an ordinary Angolan passport must be made in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Angola. For passport issuance, Angolan citizens that legally reside in Switzerland must produce the following documents:

1.Full Copy of Birth Entry, Full Birth Certificate, Identification Document, valid Identity Card and Passport (for extension)
2.Consular Registration Letter
3.Four recent passport photos (3×4,5) against white background
4.Residence Permit for Switzerland (Permis de Séjour)
5.Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
6.Proof of employment or Certificate from the Educational Establishment
7.Proof of sponsorship (for minors)
8.Fees: CHF 100.-

9. Form: CHF 20.-

N.B.: The full copy of the birth entry or the birth certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of External Relations of Angola (validity of six months or less).
Important notice: All documents in a foreign language (except passport, international certificate of vaccination and proof of flight and hotel bookings) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (canton or federal notary/chancellery).
Travel Document

In order to obtain a travel document, the applicant must be in possession of the following documents:
1.One passport photo
2.A letter addressed to His Excellence, the Ambassador
3.A duly filled outForm1 , Form2
4.Proof of Residence or resident card (Permis de Séjour)
5.Angolan documents (attesting to citizenship, for example Passport, Identity Card, Full Birth Certificate)
6.Fees: CHF 10.-

for urgencies, a further 25% of the value will be charged.
N.B.: The full copy of the birth entry or the Birth Certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of External Relations of Angola (validity of six months or less).
Important: All documents in a foreign language (except passport, international certificate of vaccinations and proof of flight and hotel bookings) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (canton or federal notary/chancellery).
Transcription of Marriage Certificate

For the transcription of a marriage certificate, the following documents are necessary:

1.Full Copy of Birth Entry
2.Consular Registration (Angolan citizen)
3.Birth Certificate and Identity Card of the betrothed (foreign)
4.Proof of residence of the betrotheds
5.Marriage Certificate (original)
6.Fees : CHF 160.-

N.B.: The full copy of the birth entry or the birth certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of External Relations of Angola (validity of six months or less).
Important notice: All documents in a foreign language (except passport, international certificate of vaccination and proof of flight and hotel bookings) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (canton or federal notary/chancellery).
Document Authentication

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Angola in Switzerland authenticates and acknowledges signatures on the following documents:

1.Power of attorney
2.Proof of sponsorship
3.Photocopy of Passport, valid Identity Card, Driver’s Licence
4.Documents issued in Switzerland should be previously translated by a certified translator and acknowledged by the federal or canton chancellery.
5.Fees: CHF 20.- (for documents of national citizens)
6.Fees: CHF 100.- (for foreign documents)

N.B.: The full copy of the birth entry or the Birth Certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of External Relations of Angola (validity of six months or less).

Transcription of Birth

For the transcription of the birth entry it is indispensible to have the presence of the parents (if they are married, the presence of one shall suffice) and of two witnesses in possession of valid identification documents.
For the transcription of the birth certificate, they must be in possession of the following documents:

1.A duly filled out form.
2.Full Copy of Birth Entry, Full Birth Certificate and Identity Card
3.Consular registration of the parents (Angolan citizen)
4.Residence Permit for Switzerland
5.Original Birth Certificate of the applicant (minor)
6.Fees : CHF 40.-

MINISTER OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS


Ambassador Téte António, born on January 22, 1955 in the municipality of Bembe, Province of Uíge, has a Master's degree in International Economic Relations by the University of Kiev / Ukraine.
He attended courses in Preventive Diplomacy at Columbia University, New York, in Conflict Management, Resolution and Mediation at the Jimmy Carter Center, and Diplomacy at the Cairo Ministry of Foreign Affairs Institute in Egypt, United Nations Law and Practice at New York University, USA.

Before being appointed Minister, he served as Secretary of State for External Relations, Representative of the African Union to the United Nations, in New York, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the African Union Commission, Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Angola to the United Nations, in New York.

Ambassador Téte António was also a member of the Angolan delegation to the United Nations Security Council (2003-2004), Principal Expert during the Angolan Presidency of the UN Peacebuilding Commission; Adviser to the President of the 59th Session of the UN General Assembly (2004-2005); Director of the Office of the Vice Minister of External Relations (1999-2002); African Union Political Observer to the United Nations Mission for the Organization of a Referendum in Western Sahara

(MINURSO) based in El Aiune, Western Sahara from 1997 to 1999; Diplomat at the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Permanent Mission to the African Union (1993-1997), Official of the African Union and Specialized Institutions Department of the Africa and Middle East Directorate of the Ministry of External Relations and Employee of IMPORTANG assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Ambassador Téte António joined several African Union election observation missions and attended several study missions to countries emerged from conflict by the UN Peacebuilding Commission; Participated in several meetings of the UN, African Union, South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Economic Commission of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). He speaks fluently and writes Portuguese, English, French, Russian, Kikongo and Lingala.

He co-authored the book entitled: “Angola at the UN Security Council (2003-2004), Experience and Practical Contribution to Conflict Resolution in Africa“.
